Priacanthidae - bigeyes
| Bigeyes are deep-bodied fishes with very large eyes. They are bottom dwelling fishes, usually nocturnal, and prefer reefs or other hard bottoms. Young fishes may be found swimming under floating objects in the ocean. They are usually red in color but other color patterns do exist. Some are good food fishes and are sometimes marketed as "red snapper". |
